Our Family
Carlos and Sandi met in 2006 and we were married in New Jersey on the coldest day of the year in January of 2009.
In the fifteen years that we've been married we have had 5 children: Josiah, Grace, Adiella, Samuel and Libbie.
We moved from New Jersey to Indiana in 2011 while Carlos worked full-time as a consultant for a Pharmaceutical company.
When we moved to Indiana we were blessed to connect with Hope, The Breakfast Church and we became involved in the life of this church community.
Ministry has always been very important to us. Both individually and as a couple we have felt the call of God on our lives to be in ministry.
In 2012, God created an opportunity for us to work part-time with Hope Church in Indianapolis. At that time Carlos transitioned into a part-time consultant role and in 2013, Carlos transitioned into a full-time staff role at Hope Church and resigned from his consulting work.
In the fall of 2014, we began to see that perhaps God was leading us into a new place. We began to pray fervently for the Lord to show us what He wanted us to be doing. Through wonderful people and God's amazing Spirit He made it clear that we need to be in ministry full time and He opened our eyes and hearts to the idea of going somewhere new.
Through God's divine leading he has led us to the Family Empowerment Center in Chicago, Illinois and has shown us how we can be instruments in His hands for His Kingdom work.
Now, in late 2024, our family is in the transition journey of a new role of leadership within the City of Chicago, through a partnership with the Midwest Alliance District to develop a movement of disciple-making disciples through the multiplication of missional communities. We are humbled and expectant on God’s leading of developing new leaders and deploying them into new Kingdom impact initiatives.
